Stumbling blocks in Jever

Stumbling blocks are to be laid in Jever for the first time - as a sign against forgetting and in memory of people from the region who were persecuted, deported or murdered during the National Socialist era.

The stumbling blocks project in Jever is currently being developed in co-operation between the GröschlerHaus and the town of Jever. The first information event took place in March 2025.

A committee will soon be set up in which local schools, historians, political parties and civil society groups will work together on the realisation of the project alongside the town of Jever and the GröschlerHaus.

The blocks are laid as part of Gunter Demnig's Europe-wide art and remembrance project. It will be some time before the first Stolpersteine are laid in Jever - we will keep you up to date here, on social media and via the regional press.
